Recently I have been sketching concepts of artwork to then put onto the base of my surfboard. This piece is inspired by various experiences, places I've visited and people I have met all through surfing with a love for the ocean.
I often return home from my trips with a new story to tell and thought it would be great to create a cartoon collage of these stories. Unfortunately I couldn't include everything I wanted to, but I am very happy with the outcome.
Below is a breakdown of the artwork showing what stories inspired the art. The overall colour of the piece is inspired by the burning colours of the sunsets in Broome where I first learnt to surf with some of my favourite people.
